My research and teaching build the institutional and human infrastructure of the energy transition — the students, educators, and workforce who will design and run it.

Programs
- Engineering for One Planet (EOP) Institutionalization Program — leads UTA’s program, which has trained over 100 faculty to embed UN SDG-aligned sustainability outcomes into engineering courses, reaching an estimated 5,000 students. Published at ASEE annually since 2023.
- DOD next-generation power systems workforce — Co-PI on a DOD-funded effort preparing engineers to design advanced electrical power systems spanning multi-source energy, storage, intelligent control, and transient loads.
- NSF RET Site on Sustainable and Resilient Infrastructure — Co-PI, bringing college-level research into K-12 classrooms.
- Planet Texas 2050 — developed sustainability curriculum for UT Austin’s initiative as a Scientist in Residence.
Philosophy
Active, project-based, collaborative learning: students learn from each other’s strengths, which improves outcomes for everyone — especially students underrepresented in engineering.
